Why Alberta Certified Exists
As a B2B service, Alberta Certified was founded on a simple purpose: to build a stronger Alberta by making local and ethical business the safer, smarter choice — strengthening domestic supply chains in the process. Launching in August 2026, we are rapidly seeking widespread brand recognition and have several meetings scheduled with key elected and government officials, business and trade associations, chambers of commerce, industry groups, and regulators.
It’s our short-term goal to have the Alberta Certified brand become a trusted pre-qualifier indicating compliance with true “buy local” policies. Whether you are bidding on municipal infrastructure; contributing to provincial pipeline construction; developing resources (agriculture, oil and gas, forestry, mining); or providing planning/engineering consulting services for the same; the Alberta Certified badge is intended to be the one-stop visual indicator that you are who you say you are. Trust, but verify.
Trust requires more than good intentions — it requires a credible process. That’s why Alberta Certified works in collaboration with West-End Registries, an authorized agent for Alberta Registries, and a trusted provider of Service Alberta products since 1993. Their registry expertise lends independent legitimacy to how we verify complex Alberta ownership and operations files, so when a business earns the Alberta Certified badge, it’s backed by a defensible rigorous analysis. It’s also worth noting that West-End Registries is an Alberta Certified company.
With all of our contracting, we are selective with whom we do business with by living and breathing our core mission. It’s how we conduct our affairs in all business decisions that we make. There are many businesses in Alberta that appear Albertan on the surface but a dive into their records reveals that they are owned or registered elsewhere.
Our Mission
To de-risk ‘Buy Local’ through trusted, independent verification and to encourage companies to make a positive impact in their communities.
We communicate the local and ethical value of our certified businesses so they are always favoured.
Why it Matters: Buyers increasingly want to support local, ethical companies — but self-declared claims aren’t enough. Alberta Certified removes the guesswork with genuine, third-party verification, so certified businesses can activate their competitive advantage with confidence. Our commitment to high-impact pan-Alberta charities will make your contributions felt by those in need.
We offer turn-key solutions: Included in an Alberta Certified membership is our concierge consulting services to prove Alberta owned and operated statuses, assistance with bidding and untangling red-tape. We can also provide additional Government Relations services to clear the fog around government decisions and to show the likely path of expensive policy changes, including advocating for changes that benefit you and your customers.
Advisory Council — Coming Soon
To further strengthen the objectivity of our certification process, Alberta Certified is establishing an independent Advisory Council. Council members will provide additional oversight and perspective on our standards and verification decisions, ensuring the Alberta Certified designation remains impartial, credible, and accountable to the businesses and consumers who rely on it.
(Details on Council composition and members will be announced soon. Questions or Advisory Council member applications can be sent to [email protected])

Certification That Gives Back
Part of every Alberta Certified membership goes directly toward supporting Alberta-based charities. When your business gets certified, you’re also helping strengthen the communities we exist to serve. We’re currently selecting charity and non-profit partners across health, education, veteran supports, and social services, and will publish a recommended list soon.
If you are involved with a charity that wants to partner with us, please let use know.
