How Certification Works
Becoming Alberta Certified means your business has been independently verified as Alberta-owned and operated, registered in good standing, and has formally attested to our Ethical Pledge.
Here’s exactly what the application process looks like:
1. Apply
Submit your business details through our online application, or book a call.
2. Ownership & Operations Review
We verify that your business is genuinely Alberta-owned, operated, in good standing, and registered here.
3. Ethical Pledge Attestation
Every applicant attests to our Ethical Pledge — eight commitments that set your business apart from your competition.
4. Certification Decision
Once ownership verification and pledge attestation are complete, qualifying businesses are approved and issued their personalized Alberta Certified badge and other verification documentation, including customized marketing materials.
5. Badge & Listing
Certified businesses are added to our public directory of certified companies, and and the directory is shared with government procurement offices. We also advertise on your behalf, to your customers, through our comprehensive online marketing.
6. Renewal
Certification is reviewed to ensure continued compliance with our Ethical Pledge, keeping the badge meaningful for everyone who relies on it. You choose the length of your membership, recurring plans get you the best rates.

Some companies proudly feature their unique badge on their websites; others only include it in annual reports, marketing materials, or tender submissions. Depending on how you’re communicating to your audience, the badge says a lot about your values and commitment to local business.
We also make it easy to give back
A small portion of every membership goes to Alberta charities and causes. It’s part of our ethos to give back. You choose the categories that matter most to your business (addiction recovery, veterans support, wilderness protection, etc.) and we allocate funds without adding to your workload. It’s all included. It’s a simple, structured way to stand out as a good corporate citizen.
